About Cheshunt Lodge

Cheshunt Lodge was founded on October 31, 1902, so it has been serving the community around Cheshunt for 120 years. As well as meeting four times a year every February, April, September and November, it hosts weekly meetings throughout the year, to organise future meetings and to practice for them, as well as many social events.

It is made up of members from north London, Cheshunt and Stevenage.

Fundraising is at the heart of Freemasonry and every year, the elected head of the Lodge, the Worshipful Master, selects a charity or two that funds raised at its meetings and social events.

In the past few years, Cheshunt Lodge has donated thousands of pounds to Breast Cancer Now, Cancer Research, the Garden House Hospice, Home Start Hertfordshire, the Scout Association, the Trussell Trust, Broxbourne Food Bank, the Beaumont Centre for older people, as well as to the Masonic Charitable Foundations appeals for the Ukraine, which went to charities including the Red Cross, Plan International, UNHCR, UNICEF and the Refugee Council.

We are part of a unique members’ organisation that has thrived for more than 300 years. Having no political or religious affiliations, we comprise of members of all ages, races, religions, cultures and backgrounds. When we meet in Lodges we have ceremonial traditions which encourage us both to be more tolerant and respectful, and actively to fulfil our civic and charitable responsibilities; we also make time to eat, drink and meet together, and form lifelong friendships.

We’ve made substantial donations across the country to
local air ambulances, blood bikes and provide a number of emergency response vehicles, including two super aerial platforms for the London Fire Brigade, bought after the Grenfell Tower tragedy.
